Moxie™ Qigong Wellness Workshops for People Living with Cancer

This workshop is designed for people living with cancer who want to learn how to unlock their own healing super-powers. Directly translated as “the practice of energy,” Qigong is mindfulness-in-motion; a dynamic, moving meditation often referred to as the "art of effortless power." The exercises incorporate breathing, gentle stretching and peaceful, flowing movements to achieve a state of balance between the mind, spirit, and body. Qigong is one of the highest forms of self-care as it returns your body to it’s incredible, innate healing capacity and is used extensively as a complementary medical treatment for cancer.

Meet Kate the founder

I am a Neuroscientist, a Wholistic Wellness Coach, and a Qigong teacher. I discovered my own Moxie when I was in treatment for breast cancer. The incredible practice of Qigong, together with important lifestyle changes, and the support I received through creating a healing community, helped me transform my stress, pain, and trauma into a sense of peace, healing, and renewed energy. I discovered the strength and the life-changing tools I needed to finish treatment, thrive, and create a life I truly love.

Now, my mission is to coach other women living with cancer in this powerful, comprehensive system of self-care, that teaches you how to integrate simple, mind and body practices into a self-healing lifestyle that will sustain you throughout your life. I'm passionate about helping women discover their own power to face difficulty with spirit and courage, and to heal with Moxie.

What is Qigong?

Directly translated as “the practice of energy,” Qigong is mindfulness in motion, a dynamic, moving meditation often referred to as the "art of effortless power." The easy-for-anyone exercises incorporate breathing, gentle stretching and peaceful, flowing movements to achieve a state of balance between the mind, spirit, and body. Qigong is the highest form of self-care on the planet as it returns your body to its incredible innate healing power, and is used extensively as a complementary medical treatment for chronic diseases, including cancer.

An Intro to Qigong

The Science 

 

An ancient Chinese health care system and healing practice, Qigong has been used by millions of people to prevent and treat illness and disease for optimal longevity. When diagnosed with a disease, our bodies are living in a constant state of stress and imbalance. Qigong supports the body's natural tendency to return to balance and equilibrium by opening blockages in the body through which our life-energy (known as "qi") flows, harmonizing the mind, body, and spirit.

Doctors have extensively studied and shown the positive effects of Qigong, specifically for cancer patients going through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and medication. Regular Qigong practice can help alleviate many of the side-effects of treatment, including its negative effects on pain, energy, mood, sleep, appetite, and can even help prevent recurrence.
